the five divisions or constituents of man: රූපස්කන්ධය &c., viz, රූපය, the body
වේදනාස්කන්ධය, feeling, perception
සංඥාස්කන්ධය, bare recognition or apprehension
සංස්කාරස්කන්ධය, moral or mental state, as of covetousness or doubt &c. to the number of fifty different states
විඥනස්ක න්ධය, knowledge, consciousness. The five are divided into two parts, නාම and රූප, of which four ස්කන්ධ, portions, belong to නාමය or the mind.
